Justice First football tournament

I have always believed in a Britain that welcomes refugees fleeing war and persecution within a fair and managed system, as Britain has done throughout our history.
That’s the sort of managed system we have to urgently rebuild, ending the dangerous chaos of boat crossings.
And for those refugees that are here, I believe in integration and building a nation of friends not strangers, who work together and play together on these Isles.
That’s why I was really pleased to join the Redcar team in the Justice First football tournament in Boro. Most of our team are women fleeing Afghanistan with one player from Iran .
It was my pleasure to play football with them (badly sorry! ) and to be part of this Refugee Football Tournament at Goals in Middlesbrough organised by former Boro player Curtis Fleming for refugee week.
