Today, Labour is TRIPLING emergency rough sleeping funding, with £30 million for councils to provide safe, secure housing, warm beds, hot meals, and specialist care for those in need.
Rough sleeping is the sharpest and most visible end of the housing crisis — a dreadful situation that we inherited, with more than 123,000 households in temporary accommodation, including nearly 160,000 children, a shocking legacy.
We can only end it by working together across government, with councils, charities, experts, and frontline services. This new Labour Government is committed to building a future free from homelessness.
